I teach Bible from time to time and i often get the feeling that the drama escapes us. Ken Gire is a true craftsman. He takes scripture and gives it perspective. He gets to the relational side of God's love letter to humans. Gire lets you experience the motives and emotion along with the truth. It's like amplification...it gets my attention. I'm sure there are purists who will claim that he's taking license with scripture, and i don't claim to have the education to argue. Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. This book brings life.

No other Auschwitz survivor has been as literarily powerful and historically influential as Primo Levi. Yet Levi was not only a victim or a witness. In the fall of 1943, at the very start of the Italian Resistance, he was a fighter, participating in the first attempts to launch guerrilla warfare against occupying Nazi forces. Those three months have been largely overlooked by Levi's biographers; indeed, they went strikingly unmentioned by Levi himself. For the rest of his life he barely acknowledged that autumn in the Alps. But an obscure passage in Levi’s The Periodic Table hints that his deportation to Auschwitz was linked directly to an incident from that time: “an ugly secret” that had made him give up the struggle, “extinguishing all will to resist, indeed to live.”

What did Levi mean by those dramatic lines? His small partisan band, it appears, had turned on itself, committing a brutal act against two of its own members. Using that shocking episode as a starting point, Sergio Luzzatto offers a rich examination of the early days of the Resistance, when the nascent movement struggled to define its role. Combining investigative flair with profound empathy, he traces vivid portraits of both rebels and Nazi collaborators, showing how their fates continued to be intertwined into the postwar years. Writing Spilled Milk was very emotional for me, as you canimagine. I wrote what I needed to get down on paper as fast as Icould,and re-reading each chapter to edit and proofread was painful. As a self-published and first-time author, I know now that the first edition of Spilled Milk was not in its "best form"grammatically, but I alsocouldn't bear to have a professional editor or proofreader make changesto it. It was all still too raw and personal for me.

Severalcolleges and high schools have incorporated the novel into their lessonplans and I've received tons of feedback from my voracious fans- I knew I needed to come out with a more polished and professional edition thatwas appropriate for the education system, my fans, and in general. Thesecond edition of Spilled Milk (2015) has been proofread by twoamazing professionals in the industry and I am proud of the outcome. Brett Green is the editor of 'HyperScale' (www.hyperscale.com), an online model magazine established in 1998, and a highly respected aviation modeller. He has published two books on the colours and markings of Luftwaffe aircraft: 'Augsburg's Last Eagles', on the late-war Messerschmitt Bf 109, and 'Stormbird Colors' on the Me 262. For Osprey Publishing he has written Modelling 2: 'Modelling the Bf 110 in 1/48 scale', Modelling 11: 'Modelling the P-47 Thunderbolt', and co-written 'US Army Fighter Modeling' in the Masterclass series. Good source for the experienced builder

As with many books in the Osprey modeling series this one is a fine demonstration of intermediate to advanced techniques in plastic aircraft modeling. It is a great book for those modelers looking to learn how to manipulate and alter existing kits to portray a very precise replication of an actual aircraft. I would like to see in these books, however, a straight forward "out of box" build for those new to the hobby. Aside from that point it is a good reference and source of inspiration for those modelers with some experience.

I found this book by Brett Green to be very helpful as it gives the modeler a concise list of all products used to make a contest worthy aircraft. The methods employed by Mr Green are first rate as well. This book is a good investment no matter what other books on the Corsair the customer owns. If it be your only reference on the Corsair, I would not worry. Enjoy.

Who is this for?????

Kudos to Osprey, first of all, for publishing this line of books. BUT...I question the choice of author on this one. I have purchased other books in this series, for example the F-4 Phantom II book, and have been fairly pleased. This one, though, is a book without a specific market. It's not for the newbie (that's for sure!!) although the pictures @ first glance would make you think it is. The author walks you through the process, but mentions things I've never heard of...often in passing or in a single sentence. I've been modeling for 10 years, and am befuddled by his references...and not just because some products aren't sold here in the states. Think about it: if I knew these advanced procedures and obscure products you mention in your book, why in the heck would I buy your book???!!!

I rate the title 3 stars because they do cover a variety of scales & brands, and the printing, & pictures are very good.

A Little Book That Stirs Big Thoughts.

We usually look upon our world as a normally ordered place where everything works as it is expected to - flowers bloom, babies are born, airplanes fly, etc. We take it all for granted without much thought or examination. After reading Dr. Goenka's book, "Does The Atom Have A Designer?", in which he describes the marvelous Atom with its interacting particles, I can not help but look upon my world, and indeed my very existence, with renewed wonder and mystery. This is a little book that can stir big thoughts.

The physicist can take us to the outer edges of the matter world, to the very exotically named particles such as quarks and leptons and gluons that comprise it. But further they are unable to go as scientists. Here, rather, the baton of inquiry is handed off to us. After all, it is only we who can give meaning to our existence - or not.

Great read!

Dr. Goenka makes a very compelling argument. The building blocks of our entire known universe are proof that there is a "Designer." He makes what I consider a formal proof. He takes you from the initial question using current knowledge and logically moves forward to the end conclusion, all the while using current evidence. While it is a relatively small amount of text, each sentance moves your mind to the next step of the proof, making it a dense but quick read. It is an extremely logical and compelling work of writing. I applaud Dr. Goenka on his work and I look forward to other works to come.

Thought Provoking Look at the Atomic Sructure.

There is a lot of argument about whether the biological world has a design indicating intelligence behind that design. Does the Atom have a Design? asks if the basic building blocks of the inanimate universe, the atom, has a design. Although as a physicist I knew the parts of an atom, I had never thought about how amazing it was that the components which one would think are incompatible form a very stable entity we call an atom. I think Dr. Goenka gives a good argument that it took an intelligent designer to bring those components together.
