bad music must go!

The king has had it with his group of musicians. They sound awful together and he has decided that they must be thrown to the crocodiles! Music is also banned from the kingdom. Join this group of musicians as they set out on a quest to save themselves and end up bringing music back to the land! In the back of the book there is an authors note with information about the musical instruments introduced in the story. This would tie in nicely in a classroom during a music unit.

lots of fun to read with your kids

My four-year-old twins LOVE this book. They've assigned us all instruments (son takes mandolin, daughter harp, Dad takes sackbutt, Mom has contrabass recorder), and they LOVE to "play" each part as it comes up in the book. Then for a grand finale, we all "play" together. Most of the fun is in making the instrument sounds, but it's definitely one-of-a-kind.

Great books. Both content AND binding

A great deal has already been said elsewhere about the content in these books. The first book is a deliberate (but not introductory) coverage of the math behind physics; the second book is mostly applications and worked out problems using the material from the first book. Some of the material on dyadics is a bit dated, but the amazingly clear and comprehensive exposition on generalized vector spaces, Greens functions and eigenfunction expansions makes them a wonderful resource. These books go into great detail on what are now considered esoteric coordinate systems (elliptical, parabolic, etc); this may be the best place to find material on this topic. Overall, the material in these books is very dense.

The republished versions of these books are not just "photocopies" of the original books, as are some of the other reprints of classic books which are similarly expensive, but contain much less material (namely Carslaw & Jaeger and Bender & Orszag).

The print is as clean and crisp as it is in the original library copies of this book I have seen, which is especially important with all the detailed mathematical notation. The nifty 3D stereo figures are crystal clear, too. The paper is excellent quality and the books are bound very soundly (not just glued). Definitely a good addition to the library.

My Nest is Best

I work at a world birding center and use this book with Pre-K, Kinder & 1st grade children before our discussion of nests. You can hear a pin drop! They LOVE the movable parts and the story of the birds looking for a new home is very cute, especially since everything they pick,(a mailbox, an occupied tree hollow, a church steeple) is SOOO wrong. I do add dialogue, for example when the mama bird doesn't want to live in her birdhouse anymore I'll say, "I'm ready for a change. I'm tired of this place, I want to look for something bigger, newer". You can usually hear parents laughing in the back of the room. The ending is charming with the birds returning to their original birdhouse & the children LOVE the baby bird that pops out of the egg. I also add, "I love you mama bird & daddy bird, and I LOVE my house". Usually when I'm finished, children will say..."AGAIN!!"

Quality is great, I just somehow missed that this is a shortened pop-up type version of "The Best Nest" which I had already bought. I gave it 4 stars because I think this should have been made more clear to the buyer.

The book will also serve as textbook to students of BSc and MSc courses in Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science, Applied Physics and Computer Software, MCA, AMIE, graduate IETE and Diploma courses and as reference for competitive examinations. This book is divided into 13 chapters. Each chapter begins with an introduction and ends with review questions and problems. Chapter 1 introduces the number system, binary arithmetic and codes. Chapter 2 deals with Boolean algebra, simplification using Boolean theorems, K-map method and Quine-McCluskey method. In Chapter 3, logic gates and implementation of switching functions using basic and universal gates are discussed. Chapters 4 and 5 give a brief description on combinational circuits like arithmetic and data processing. Chapter 6 describes flip-flops and realization using flip-flops. Chapter 7 discusses synchronous and asynchronous counters and the design of synchronous counters in detail. Chapter 8 presents shift registers, shift counters and ring counters and their design. Chapters 9 and 10 are devoted to the design of synchronous and asynchronous sequential circuits, respectively. Chapter 11 concentrates on memory devices, which includes ROM, RAM, PLA, PAL and FPGA. Chapter 12 deals with logic families like TTL and CMOS logic circuits. Chapter 13 describes Hardware Description Language (HDL) for Digital Circuits. A number of appendices provide the student a quick glance of the topics. All the topics have been illustrated with clear diagrams. A variety of examples are given to enable students to design digital circuits efficiently. That was an amazing read and Randy Gage's mindset is mind blowing

I don't give 5 stars lightly. Yet we have to weigh up the reason for such a review. The content in this book covers every possible angle of where MLM came from to where it's heading. The insights and mindset of the author, clearly depict a firm understanding of the industry and the vision of where it's heading. This is one hell of a read and will give the newest Representative in any company. A range of tools to go out and build "New Era" style.

Dave Clearly gives credit to a variety of inspirations in forming this book, one being "Risky is the New Safe". That was an amazing read and Randy Gage's mindset is mind blowing. I put this book in exactly the same playing field, for anyone who has read that book. New Era is an excellent read and highly recommend it!

This book couldn't have been released at a better time. With the current momentum in the industry and the shifting of peoples mindsets, the NEW ERA is here! I found this book to be really the complete package, industry trends and backing, steps to actually apply for real world application and the mindset required to do so. Was great to be able to pick up a book that was written by someone still in the trenches and not just someone who's cashing in on success they got a decade ago. A Quick Read With Just A Little Spice

I download this as a free book offering many months ago and finally had a chance to read it. I found it to be a quick read that never got too heavy. The characters are fun but I did not find myself developing an attachment to the like I do with many of the other books I have red recently. All in all, not a bad read, with a little spice thrown in for good measure.
